Promises Made, Promises Kept

The people of Western North Carolina sent me to Raleigh in 2002 because they shared my belief that our region deserves strong schools, good healthcare, a sustainable economy and opportunity for all. As your senator, I have brought new jobs, high-quality healthcare programs and badly-needed school funding back home to the mountains.

I am proud of my successful fight to get Western North Carolina its fair share. I look forward to continuing to serve you with effective leadership grounded in mountain values.
